Wright Comparsion Series: Bushing Bar

Wright Comparsion Series: Bushing Bar

Last month we launched the Wright Comparison Series. Our goal for this series was to show exactly how we stack up against competitors in the industry. This series is designed to be purely informational which is why there are no winners or losers.  We simply want to assist our customers through the purchase process by comparing what’s on the market. Many of our shoppers do that anyway, so we figured it wouldn't hurt to make it readily available here on our site. In our first edition, we compared a 260lb set of crumb rubber bumper plates among 6 others in the market. While leaving out brand names, we showed that Wright our specs are consistent with what's offered in the market while offering a lower-price point regardless of shipping with a great warranty. We were also among 4 of 6 competitors that manufacture their bumper plates in the USA.

This week we've decided to compare bushing barbells. The barbell side of the market is just as competitive if not more competitive as bumper plates. Having a quality barbell is a requirement in a functional fitness, weightlifting and CrossFit regimens. Here we found 6 brands that we felt comparable to our brand. We focused on brands with a specific audience towards lifting. There are no brands included from big-box retail giants.

In this week’s comparison, we used the most entry-level bushing barbell available from each competitor. This means this is the lowest-priced bushing barbell you could get at each retailer. The bushing bar is a common bar for home gym use. The bushing bar is typically used for powerlifting workouts. Bushing bars are also common for deadlifts and squats. We compared pricing to the west coast, pricing to the east coast, warranty, place of manufacture, tensile, knurl marks, coating, diameter, and sleeve length.

It’s great to go ahead and note that we did not include whip or spin in the comparison because we believe it is subjective.
