The Importance of a Routine (Get up and Conquer!)

The Importance of a Routine (Get up and Conquer!)

Honestly, what does your routine look like? Do you wake up and kind of just go in a direction? Do you wake up and have a list of things that are important to you and your success that you want to accomplish right away?

All successful individuals have a routine. They have a game plan for the day that they conquer regardless of how they are feeling in that particular moment. Greatness or success doesn’t care how you feel. You have to take a step regardless, whether it is small or large! Try these awesome morning routine tips and let me know how you feel after consistently sticking to it for a few weeks. Remember CONSISTENCY is key. Your brain and body love consistency!

1. THANK JESUS for the day and opportunities to come

Thank Jesus for your day and pray that he fills you up with his spirit! Start your first moments with the creator. Thank him for the day, and ask him to put on the armor to fight temptations and the stress of your day! He is real, he works in your favor, and he loves you so much!

2. HYDRATE and EAT

Get up and get water in you! Yes, have your morning coffee! I look forward to that first cup of coffee to help kick start your day! But remember up to 60% of your body is made up of water. Up to 73% of your brain and heart are made up of water as well. That is a lot!! So why would you not want to immediately consume water when you wake up! Your brain will love you; your organs and muscles will work better as well. It takes one H2O molecule to release one ATP, which is the fuel for lifting and sprinting! So help your muscles contract optimally, and minimize cramping as well! Stop making excuses and get that high-quality H2O in you! As for eating, there are no specifics on what to eat when you first get up. Do what works for you! I love getting an easy complex carb in like a “Boomin Berry Bagel” by Daves Power Breads. I also like to eat a protein like a Greek Yogurt, a few eggs, or a protein shake. I have a busy schedule, so do what works for you! But get up drink water, and eat. Kick start your digestion, your brain, your muscles, and get your day going!

*The majority of your liquid consumption should be water. But remember too much water at once can flush electrolytes, especially exercising. So make sure you get electrolytes into your day! Your brain will work better, and your workouts will be more optimal!

3. MOVE, MOVE, MOVE

Get up and move! If you are a morning workout warrior then get after it! If you don’t have time to work out in the morning, or you simply don’t want to. Then all you need is 10 minutes. Researchers at the University of Bristol found “that people who exercise during the workday have more energy and a more positive outlook, which are both critical to getting things done,” he says. “Getting your body moving for as little as 10 minutes releases GABA, a neurotransmitter that makes your brain feel soothed and keeps you in control of your impulses.”

“Don’t have time for a trip to the gym? Something as simple as a 10-minute walk to the office can help kick-start your endorphins.”

Water, food, sleep, and Jesus loves you!

Get up and conqueror! “I am more than a conqueror through Christ who loves me!” Romans 8:37
